PICTURES WITH SANTA Schedule your pictures with Santa today! Pets are welcome for our holiday photo event on November 19th and 20th, 1pm-5pm at the humane education building. For $15, you will receive a 4x6 print along with a cd of two digital prints to use for your greeting cards and holiday celebrations. FURRY FRIENDS COMMUNITY SPAY CLINIC HELPS RESIDENTS “FIX” THE PROBLEM OF PET OVERPOPULATION Furry Friends is proud to announce that the Furry Friends Community Spay Clinic is now available to help low-income pet owners and caretakers of alley cats and barn cat colonies. Through the hard work and dedication of a number of our volunteers, a program has been created to offer this important service at minimal cost to community members—a vital program to ending the problem of homeless animals. Check out the details of our program here LOCAL BUSINESS THE KEGSTAND RAISES OVER $1000 FOR FURRY FRIENDS AT FUNDRAISER A special thanks to our friends at The Kegstand located at 3530 Westown Parkway ins West Des Moines for hosting an adoption event and fundraiser. The event resulted in finding a new home for one of our dogs and raised over $1000 to help the animals!
VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION We offer volunteer orientation for adults twice each month. Participants in orientation must be at least 12 years of age and must be with a parent both for orientation and while volunteering if under 16 years of age. Orientation for adults is offered the first Saturday of each month at 9:00am-10:30am and the third Sunday of each month at 1:30pm-3:00pm. Currently, there is no requirement to preregister for orientation. All orientations are held at Furry Friends Refuge. JUNIOR VOLUNTEERS We offer special orientation for those who are volunteering with younger children. All children must attend with an adult and must be with their legal guardian or sign a waiver in advance to be able to handle animals at the shelter. When volunteering at the shelter, there must be at least one adult supervising for each two junior volunteers. Please call in advance for junior volunteer orientation times at 222-0009. |
